In 2009

In 2009 Café Church leaders travelled to Durban, South Africa, to witness the Umthombo Street Kids programme – since then there has been ongoing fundraising to provide soft furnishings for Umthombo’s Safe Space centre. Watch this video clip for a small taste of what Umthombo does:

Monthly breakfasts

Cottage Beck Café Church holds monthly breakfasts to which we invite clergy and pastoral carers working within the Scunthorpe area.  If this is you and you would like to be included on our mailing list for when dates are sent around contact us here.

Neighbourhood Action Team (NAT) Meeting

There is a Neighbourhood Action Team (NAT) Meeting held each month and these are an opportunity to raise issues that concern the area you live within. The membership is made up of Residents Association leads, Neighbourhood Watch Groups and local businesses along with Safer Neighbourhoods Partnership.

If you have an issue within your community that you would like to raise, please let any of the members of the group know – contact us. You can also contact any member of the team at Ashby Police Station who can take your issues forward for you.

The Frodingham NAT is chaired by Councillor Tony Ellerby.

Frodingham First Community Panel

Frodingham First Community Panel meets regularly, often at Cottage Beck Café Church. This group acts as a fundholding body for community development projects in the Frodingham Ward – if you have an idea that would enhance the quality of life for residents of the Ward that may or may not need funding, contact us.
